Morgan Wallen's tribute came two days after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at an outdoor speaking event in Utah. Kirk was known as the co-founder of Turning Point USA. According to reports, he was a close ally of former President Donald Trump, and was considered one of the most influential young conservative figures of his generation. His assassination has triggered notable reactions and tributes from multiple well-known personalities.

Before performing his hit song I'm A Little Crazy, Morgan Wallen addressed the crowd with the following message:

"I am not gonna say a whole bunch on this, but this song right here has been hitting me harder in the last couple days, and I just wanted to let Erika Kirk know that me and my family are sending prayers her way."

Erika Kirk's response to her husband's fatal shooting

On September 12, 2025, Erika Kirk addressed the incident in an emotional speech. According to ABC News, she stated:

"You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife, the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die. It will not, I refuse to let that happen... All of us will refuse to let that happen. No one will ever forget my husband's name, and I will make sure of it."

Charlie Kirk was killed on September 10, 2025, during the opening stop of his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University. The alleged assassin is Tyler Robinson.
