How did Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini die? Influencer's husband was sent photo of his wife recovering from cosmetic procedure hours before her death

Social media influencer Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini tragically lost her life following complications after a plastic surgery. The 31-year-old influencer went to Istanbul with her husband, Elgar Miles, to get the treatment. She suffered a heart attack following the cosmetic surgery.

According to Us Weekly, Miles even received a photo of Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini in recovery, hours before she was declared dead. In return for the treatment, she was supposed to promote Tusa Hospital, the place where she had the surgery.

As per reports, she was there to get breast implants, in addition to a nose job and liposuction. The Daily Mail quoted Elgar Miles, who said:

“She wanted to undergo these procedures to improve her aesthetic standards. It was a dream of hers. Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday. We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared.”

Speaking to another media outlet, G1 News, he said:

“The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine. They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her. I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead.”

Reports mention that Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini and Elgar Miles met the surgeon a day before the surgery.

The medical team tried to resuscitate Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini for one and a half hours

The Turkish police reportedly detained the medical professionals. However, there were no instances of malpractice. Miles stated that even though the surgery required Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini to refrain from eating, she was taken in for the procedure after she had eaten. He said:

“I lost control. I cried, shouted, and punched the walls. I saw her in the morgue. She is looking beautiful, but she was dead.”

Meanwhile, official reports from the hospital listed Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini as a patient for a dental operation. Following the surgery, she suffered several cardiac conditions and ultimately died due to a cardiac arrest. The medical team tried to resuscitate her for more than an hour. A statement read:

“Despite all efforts by our expert anesthesiology team, the patient could not be resuscitated.”

According to Turkiye Today, the hospital in question has faced similar situations in the past. Moreover, its name was recently changed. Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini turned 31 in April 2025. Sharing a birthday post on Instagram, she wrote (translated):

“Today is my day! I’m celebrating another year of life, love, learning and growth. I thank everyone who is part of my journey and makes me every day more special. Here's to another great year, God willing!”

Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini and Elgar Miles got hitched in May 2025. Elgar Miles shared a heartfelt message expressing deep sorrow over the loss. He reflected on their love, the life they built together, and the pain of losing her so suddenly.

He described her as the person who cared for and loved him the most, and said life felt empty without her.
