It seems like Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., aka DDG, is done with her cameraman, Ed. During a recent streaming session, the rapper revealed that he fired Ed because he had been late too many times. Darryl said:
“I fired Ed. Ed was streaming today. I called Ed and I told him to be here at 5:30. It’s 5:47. He just got here. He has been late too many times.”
He also said that Ed did not understand the urgency of the job. Darryl said he has been trying to work more efficiently and is motivated to win the Streamer of the Year award next year. Social media users shared their thoughts following the news of Ed's firing. One X user commented:
“Getting fired LIVE is insane. Ed didn’t even get a loading screen.”
Meanwhile, another user joked:
“Camera man realizing he won’t have to film no more of DDG corny a** content no more.”
Another online commentator asked:
“How many times he gonna fire him and bring him back now?”
An X user compared the situation to “Call of Duty.” They wrote:
“He's putting cameraman's into rotation like yearly call of duty games.”
One netizen commented that it was a scripted moment, as they claimed:
“It gotta be a script cause doing this live is wild lol.”
Mentioning DDG’s former cameraman, another X user commented:
“He only did it because of the moment Johnny had on stream about his brother and parents being deceased i believe.”
Here’s what DDG told Ed during the streaming session
DDG told Ed that if people on his team were not punctual, it would affect his efficiency. He then told Ed:
“That being said, man. I am gonna let you go.”
Ed requested another chance, but Darryl said that one more try would not be enough. He said Ed already had enough chances. He mentioned that this wasn’t the first time Ed was late to work. He said:
“I have been telling you like all that late sh*t is not cool. It don’t matter. I am starting late but you also late. Damn, what if I want to start early. You feel me? Like I can’t do in real without a cameraman. And if you are not here, that mean you are slowing me down. So, it’s like how the f*ck I am supposed to just continuously just? You know and at the end of the day, it’s a job.”
According to DDG, he and Ed were not on the “same wavelength.” After telling him that he was fired, Ed left the room and yelled, “F*ck.” The rapper reportedly called up his former cameraman and asked if he could join immediately. The person said he would be on his way in the next 30 minutes. He said he would get ready and head over.
Darryl then told his viewers that a new cameraman would join his team. He mentioned that they would get started “real soon.”
