Gene Simmons is reported to have recently suffered a car accident after the car he was driving crashed as he passed out behind the vehicle. According to People Magazine, the "Radioactive" singer was later hospitalized after which he took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank his fans for their kind wishes and support.

Gene Simmons is one half of the heavy rock band KISS, that he had co-founded the group in 1973 along with three other members. The band remained active until 2023, when they announced their disbandment after several decades together. According to People Magazine, Simmons is, in fact, slated to reunite with his former bandmates next month to perform at the KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas event, to celebrate fifty years of the band. The three day event will take place from November 14 to 16 at the Virgin Hotels.

Gene Simmons was traveling in his car on Tuesday, October 7, along the Pacific Coast Highway when his vehicle crashed into a parked car along the route. This accident, which took place around 1 p.m. reportedly happened after Simmons passed out while driving his car.

According to NBC Los Angeles, emergency services were called to the scene, after which Gene Simmons was transported to a undisclosed hospital in Malibu. His wife, Shannon Tweed, with whom he shares two children said in an interview with NBC 4 that Simmons' "SUV careened across several lanes of traffic" during the incident. She further mentioned that there were some recent changes to the "I Was Made For Lovin' You" singer's medication, before adding that "he is doing fine" and is now recuperating at his home.

After the incident, Simmons took to X (formerly Twitter) to assure his worried fans that he was doing better, describing the incident as "a slight fender bender." He wrote:

"I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us [who are] horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gene Simmons' representative further assured fans of his health, adding that "Gene is fine and back to work already.” In December, the rock legend is set to be honored at the annual Kennedy Center Honors event, alongside other members of KISS. Other stars who will be honored include Sylvester Stallone, Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor and George Strait.
