Yes, Epic Games revealed that Fortnite servers are down due to the game’s server status update for the 38.00 version. According to reports, the new version will include a Springfield-themed map, new skins, and a brand new Battle Pass. The Fortnite server went down after the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event. Maintenance began by 3:30 PM GMT, November 1, 2025.

As of writing this article, Fortnite is down across all gaming platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox, and Android. According to Epic Games’ official server status, the server maintenance is expected to last for several hours and should probably come back online by 8:00 PM GMT. The game wrote on its official X account:
“Hey. The servers are currently offline for maintenance. As soon as we have any updates, they will be posted here: status.epicgames.com.”
The game also announced the event earlier.
“Following the Welcome, Our Alien Overlords live event tomorrow at 11 AM ET, Fortnite will go into downtime at 11:30 AM ET (3:30 PM UTC): status.epicgames.com. The v38.00 update drops later the same day, taking us to Springfield!”
On November 1, 2025, Epic Games released a newsletter describing all the details of the Fortnite x The Simpsons launch. The newsletter explained the Springfield battle pass and revealed that the game will now feature original animated The Simpsons shorts weekly.
“The 80-player Springfield Island features a fast-paced, back-to-basics Battle Royale experience straight from the minds behind The Simpsons.”
It added:
