How did Travis Kelce fall for Taylor Swift and shut down ‘PR stunt’ rumors?

Travis Kelce has said that his relationship with Taylor Swift is as real as it can get. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed in an interview for GQ’s September 2025 cover story that he felt like a regular person in love whenever he was with Swift:

"Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people. When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love,”

Travis Kelce also explained that he fell in love with Swift in the most normal way possible, although the media attention on them suggests otherwise:

“It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out. But I would say that it’s as normal… It happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint, it was being tracked.”

The athlete in his GQ interview explained that the attraction between him and the Wildest Dreams hitmaker was not for the cameras and had taken both of them by surprise:

Kelce described himself and Taylor Swift as fun-loving individuals with morals who appreciated other people around them. Travis Kelce stated that he was aware of the party boy narrative about himself and asked viewers to understand that he was just trying to enjoy social events with his romantic partner:

"When you see me hanging out at the US Open with Taylor, it may look like the two of us are partying,”

He added:

"But I’m just enjoying the fun of being at this really cool event that I always wanted to go to with the person that I love. I’ve become way more strategic in understanding what I am portraying to people."

The couple confirmed their relationship in October 2023 after sparking dating rumors earlier in the same year. Since then, the couple has shown up for each other’s events and even made their red carpet debut at Travis Kelce’s three-day summer training camp in Nashville.
