Donald Trump attended the State Banquet in Windsor Castle on September 17, 2025, and remarked on Kate Middleton's appearance. The President of the United States, whilst expressing his delight to be at the gathering, looked at the Princess of Wales and commented that she looked “radiant and beautiful.”

"Melania and I are delighted to visit with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine. So radiant, so healthy and so beautiful,"

Kate responded to Trump’s comments with a smile. The 43-year-old royal announced in January 2025 that she was in remission from cancer following an official announcement in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The type of cancer was not revealed. Kate revealed that in January 2024, she had undergone abdominal surgery and tests showed that she had cancer. She stated that her diagnosis came as a “huge shock” and Prince William and she had been doing everything within their power to manage the sickness privately for the sake of their young family.

Kate Middleton visited the Colchester Hospital in Essex in July 2025. She spent some time in their well-being garden, where she made rare comments about her cancer battle. The Princess of Wales stated that even after undergoing treatment, one was faced with the hurdle of getting back to normal after everything:

"You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,”

She added:

"You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to. And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable."

In September 2024, Kate Middleton shared that she was done with cancer treatments and shared the news of her remission in January 2025.
