American country band Cross Canadian Ragweed has reunited for four sold-out reunion gigs, fifteen years after their breakup! The announcement has attracted a lot of interest from their fan base.
In addition to the blast from the past itself, the reunion gigs have left some people wondering why the band broke up in the first place.
Founded in Oklahoma in 1994, Cross Canadian Ragweed became one of the most well-known Red Dirt country bands. The songs "Boys from Oklahoma," "Sick and Tired," "Alabama," and "17" are among the band's greatest hits.

The group, which includes Randy Ragsdale, Jeremy Plato, Grady Cross, and Cody Canada, has put out three live albums in addition to five studio albums. At the forefront of the Red Dirt country music movement's ascent in Oklahoma and Texas was Cross Canadian Ragweed.
Bands break up for a variety of causes, ranging from simple misunderstandings to serious differences.
A few years after the band's first breakup in 2010, frontman Cody Canada attempted to clarify the details of the incident in an interview with The Dallas Observer.
Canada said:
"There was one person who really wasn't happy, regardless of what the situation was.
"Once things started getting uncomfortable and just weren't going right, Randy said he wanted to go home and take care of his family."

The stated explanation for the band's separation was that drummer Randy Ragsdale wanted to spend more time at home with his special needs child.
Canada added:
"When Ragweed played our last show, Randy came up to me and said, 'You know, my family isn't 100 percent the reason for this. I just didn't want the band to go out like that,' which I knew."
The band announced its sabbatical in a press release in 2010, and Ragsdale issued a statement.
In the press release, the band's drummer stated that he needed to be at home to be with his family and his son, JC, who had special needs. At the age of ten, JC still had developmental difficulties. Ragsdale believed being closer to home and more involved was the only way he could assist him.

Although Grady Cross is thought to have been the source of the band's friction, Canada never made it public.
According to Canada, there was "someone" who was not keen on continuing, and it was time to move on.
"It's not fun to play music when one person from the band isn't into it," he continued.
Fans react to the reunion show

Original fans of the band have been going crazy with excitement.

"After losing my Father recently and everything going on in the world. It was at this moment I physically and emotionally felt that it was going to be better. Thank you Cross Canadian Ragweed."
Another fan wrote:
"The Cross Canadian Ragweed Reunion Show was everything it needed to be. The entire lineup was great and all delivered! Been a fan for nearly 30 years and to see them pull off this massive Stillwater show…couldn’t be happier for Shannon, Cody and the band. #boysfromoklahoma"
