The Puerto Rican rapper and singer, Bad Bunny, released the music video for the song NUEVAYoL on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the U.S. Independence Day holiday. The song is a part of his sixth solo studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
The music video of the song NUEVAYoL has a faux voice of US President Donald Trump. The song and its lyrics appear to comment on former President Trump's immigration policies and public statements.
At the end of the video, the faux voice of Trump is heard saying:
''I made a mistake. I want to apologize to the immigrants in America."
More about Bad Bunny’s Nuevayol song
The singer, who is also known as the King of Latin Trap, released the music video for his song Nuevayol, which was released back in January 2025. The newly released music video has a cheerful vibe with vibrant Puerto Rican family dancing, eating, and celebrating.
The music video features a Puerto Rican flag draped over the Statue of Liberty’s crown, symbolically blending cultural heritage, family ties, and diaspora experiences with the broader American narrative, reframed through a distinctly Puerto Rican lens.
The music video also contains politically themed elements, including a voice mimicking Donald Trump. Towards the end of the video, a group of men stand around a retro boombox, and a speech is heard playing. The faux Donald Trump's voice is heard saying:
I'm in the United States. I know America is the whole continent. I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans …''
The men in the video then shut it off and walked away. The video ends with a text message that says 'Juntos somos mas fuertes' or 'Together we are stronger.' Bad Bunny has been using his musical platform to send powerful messages.
Back in October 2024, when comedian Tony Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico as a floating island of garbage during a Trump rally, Bad Bunny replied to his comment by posting a tribute video on Instagram with a caption that said 'Garbage.'
The video showcases Puerto Rican culture and identity through vibrant imagery and iconic figures. It features sweeping aerial shots of the island’s coasts and lush jungles, interwoven with appearances by celebrated sports icons like Monica Puig and Roberto Clemente. Scenes of traditional bomba and plena performances, lively street festivals, and dancers further capture the rich cultural heritage and spirit of Puerto Rico.
However, in the newly released NUEVAYoL music video, Bad Bunny used satirical and symbolic lyrics to deliver his imagined reversal of Trump’s immigration rhetoric.
