On June 20, 2025, Kacey Musgraves revealed on her Instagram Stories that she was in Mexico when she slipped on wet tiles during a rainstorm.

She said, “Wednesday night it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn’t see.”

Musgraves didn’t hide the difficulty of simple tasks, writing:

“This s--- is no joke. I’m in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult.”

She noted she’s “managing and being well taken care of,” but confirmed she can’t board a plane back to Nashville while her rib heals. Doctors typically advise avoiding strain for several weeks after a rib fracture. Her team is focusing on rest, pain management, and gentle breathing exercises.
