BTS’s J-hope has expressed interest in performing at Coachella sometime in the future. In a live stream with Weaver, the Daydream hitmaker shared that he hoped to mount on the stage of the annual music festival if there was any chance for him to.
The Korean artist had previously been offered an opportunity to perform at Coachella but had to decline because of his military obligations. Fans were heartbroken then because of the missed opportunity for J-Hope to shine on an international level.
Now, news of the resurfaced interest of J-Hope in Coachella has gotten reactions from fans. @btschartsdailyc shared the update on J-Hope's interest in the music festival, and @RudaIik tweeted in response:
“He definitely was invited. There is no way he wasn’t, but the tour is more important, of course. So maybe next year we will witness hobichella in full glory.”
Other X users expressed excitement for J-Hope and BTS headlining Coachella in the future:
“GP attending the festival would definitely hate us. ARMY would take over the campsites. Now that would be awesome!” @Lovemy7guys stated.
“NGL. Coachella seems dead to me, but it’s Hoba, so….. Do anything you want, King! ARMY will show up and show out for you no matter what,” @can_ttellmeshit replied.
“Do what you want, Hobi. We’re happy always when we see you on stage,” @maysajimin326 added.
Other BTS fans weren’t impressed by the hype around the Coachella event and expressed such:
“I don’t really see that Coachella is that important to do, lol. It’s just a Western festival,” @storyofbts7 stated.
“Baby, I saw what you did at Lolapoluza. Coachella ain’t big enough for that,” @BTSGirl2013 added.
“Hobi, you don’t need Coachella for real,” @kedituniversey stated.
BTS’s J-Hope surprised friend Becky G at the Coachella festival in 2023: more details explored
After news of J-Hope’s military enlistment was announced in February 2023, fans immediately started to tweet that someone should check up on Becky G because of how close she was to J-Hope. The duo had collaborated to release the hit 2019 track, Chicken Noodle Soup.
The Shower hitmaker immediately responded to tweets from fans, saying:
“I actually appreciate this sm. We have spoke. éò I really wanted him to join me at Chella, but for obvious reasons, he can't be there. Very thankful for him and wishing him well.”
Becky G, who had joined J-Hope on stage during his Lollapalooza performance in 2022, prepared to perform alone at Coachella when J-Hope surprised her with a sweet pre-recorded message:
"What’s up, Becky G and Coachella! I wish I could be with you to join this epic party, but you’re in good hands with my girl Becky G! Have a blast. Sending big love to you all from Korea!"
The sweet gesture greatly touched the Latina singer, and she went on to deliver an interesting set for Coachella.
J-hope is currently on his HOPE ON THE STAGE world tour, which will end in Osaka, Japan, on June 1, 2025.
