Little Mix parted ways back in 2021. The group, consisting of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards, announced their parting in December of that year. This was following the departure of Jesy Nelson from the group a year earlier in 2020.

Now Jade Thirlwall, also known as JADE, has shed light on the events surrounding the hiatus in an exclusive interview with the podcast G Spot, hosted by Stefanie Giesinger, on July 2, 2025, responding to the question of when she started thinking about her own solo career:

"I think towards the end of the Little Mix journey, I think we all had a sort of sit down, honest discussion with each other. Like we always said we'd want to I don't want to say end it since cuz its not over officially but yeah, end it on a high. We didn't want to wait until it driveled out or we started hating each other, all that stuff."

The singer continued:

"We were like we're doing so well that now's the time to go on a hiatus. And so you know the feelers were out there. We had a whole plan pre-covid of we do the tour and then we part ways for a bit. Covid got in the way of that a little..."

As noted by JADE, Little Mix is still officially together as a group, just on a hiatus. The Little Mix trio recently got together in November 2024. However, no official reunion has been announced as of the writing of this article. Earlier, in December 2023, Leigh-Anne Pinnock confirmed to the Sun that a reunion was still the goal for the remaining Little Mix trio, but not anytime soon:

"We Definitely will. But I mean, we've literally been solo for like two seconds and the other guys haven't even released yet, you know? So we have like time that we need to just be on our own. I guess."

A brief overview of Little Mix's career

Little Mix started as a group during the 2011 edition of the British music competition show The X Factor. The group went on to win the competition that year, being the first girl group to do so in the UK version of X Factor.

After their win, the group signed on with Syco Music and released their debut album, DNA, the next year on November 16, 2012. The album was well-received upon its release.

Subsequently, the group released their next album, Salute, on November 8, 2013. The album continued the group's success streak, with it charting well in the UK and elsewhere.

The group started gaining major commercial success with their next two albums. Their third album, Get Weird, was released on November 6, 2015, and went on to become a multi-platinum hit in the UK, their first album to do so.

After that, their fourth album, Glory Days, took the band to even greater commercial success. The album, released in 2016, went on to become a multi-platinum hit in the UK as well as Ireland. Glory Days was reissued in 2017 as Glory Days: The Platinum Edition.

The band's later albums did not receive as much success as their first four albums, and in 2020, the band released their last album so far, Confetti. Little Mix also released the compilation album Between Us in 2021.
