The Look at Me Now singer, Chris Brown, was remanded in custody in a UK court on May 16, 2025, over an alleged assault that occurred back in 2023 at a nightclub. Chris is accused of attacking the music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle, leading to bodily harm, as per The Guardian.
As the news made it to the internet, the rapper 50 Cent shared it on his Instagram handle and expressed his frustration, saying:
''This is gonna f*ck up the whole tour.''
50 Cent made that comment as Chris was about to embark on his global stadium tour titled Breezy Bowl XX Tour from June 8, 2025.
50 Cent reacts to Chris Brown being arrested
As Chris Brown flew to the UK before his tour, he was arrested on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2 am at the Lowry hotel in Salford. Chris is accused of allegedly assaulting Abe Diaw at the Tape club in Hanover Square, London, in 2023.
Chris allegedly used a bottle to attack Abe, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He then appeared in the Manchester Magistrates' Court on May 16, 2025. He confirmed his name, date of birth, and residence at the court. As per the BBC, District Judge Joanne Hirst told Chris that the nature of the crime was serious and could not be dealt with in a magistrates' court.
The Metropolitan Police shared about Chris Brown's appearance in court with People. They said:
''A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.''
They continued:
''The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on [Feb. 19, 2023]. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.''
Due to the severity of the charges, Chris is remanded in custody and will appear next in Southwark Crown Court on June 13, 2025. As the news of Chris's arrest made it to social media, 50 Cent expressed his views on his Instagram post. He said:
''Damn they doing CB dirty, they knew about this case for 2 years. This is gonna fuck up the whole tour. WTF going on !''
Chris Brown was in the UK for his upcoming tour, Breezy Bowl XX, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his self-titled album. The tour was scheduled to begin on June 8, 2025, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with performances across London and Europe. The singer and songwriter, Summer Walker, and the Don't singer, Bryson Tiller, were expected to join Chris on the tour.
Due to Chris's arrest, the tour dates are likely to be affected. It should be noted that no official statements have been made as of yet regarding the status of the tour.
