Justin Bieber’s message to Hailey after her first Vogue cover has drawn the Canadian singer back into the spotlight. His post has caused considerable backlash from fans and mixed reactions from netizens.
When a fan, in this case, @pettynickiminaj, reacts with something like:
"Selena dodged a bullet unlike Megan"
You know something is up.
Following his wife Hailey Bieber’s Vogue feature, Justin took to his official Instagram account to share Hailey’s Vogue cover and wrote a now-deleted caption which read:
“Yo, this reminds me of when Hailey and I got into a huge fight. I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue,” he wrote.
“Yikes, I know, so mean. For some reason, because I felt so disrespected, I thought I gotta get even. I think as we mature, we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even. We’re honestly just prolonging what we really want, which is intimacy and connection,” Justin continued.
He concluded the caption asking for forgiveness.
“So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken.”
Justin Bieber has since changed the post's caption to a slew of emojis.
Fans react to Justin Bieber’s message to Hailey
@PopBase on X shared Justin Bieber's now-deleted message and captioned the post:
“Justin Bieber on his wife Hailey covering Vogue Magazine: “This reminds me when [we] got into a huge fight, I told [her] that she would never be on the cover of Vogue, Yikes i know. […] Baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”
The post quickly garnered several reactions as netizens took to the comments section to express their opinions on the Never Say Never crooner’s message, with many comments being against Justin Bieber's caption:
“If your partner is not supportive of you and vice versa why the fuck are you with them??!?!! Also this didn’t need to be said. Hell a story with a similar congrats would have been better,” @blaketay4 commented.
“seriously, ppl say fucked up shit in arguments but if u really cared about your wife you'd keep that shit private, apologize in private and not embarass her like this. He just grabbed the headlines with this bs refocuses it on him,” @knightly2500k stated.
“Geez he is the worst boyfriend and husband of all time. I’d take this to my grave. Also why’d he put “sadly mistaken” I think it’s a dumb person thing not that he’s actually sad he was mistaken but very bad error,” @FTL_Bonnie added.
Other netizens tried to justify Justin Bieber’s caption.
“i get the “why would you say that to your wife” comments, i also think it’s important to recognize when people own up to their mistakes and try to grow. i hope justin is doing okay,” @OfficialDestino tweeted.
“This kid's been through a few wars. And a lot of abuse. NTM Hollywood lifestyle as a kid and Lyme Disease. He gets a break. Looks like he was trying to own up to his past mistake, even if it came off as wacky to some of us,” @tickedofflymie wrote.
“I’m not excusing his behavior, but imagine trying to call somebody out for saying something in the heat of the moment regardless of if it’s bad or not. Like everyone says shit that they don’t mean, but I forgot you’re perfect, aren’t you?” @_JustVex added.
