The co-founders of Rolling Loud, Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, also added:
"Rolling Loud’s mission has always been to cultivate hip-hop on a truly global scale, and bringing the festival to India has been a goal of ours for years."
The duo, who are also the two CEOs of Rolling Loud, continued:
To have Karan Aujla headline this debut is historic – the first time an artist from the host country will lead the bill at an international Rolling Loud. Alongside new headlining turns from Central Cee and Don Toliver, this lineup reflects both the worldwide power of hip-hop and the rising strength of India’s own scene."
Rolling Loud was first held in 2015
Rolling Loud was first held in 2015, with the festival that year being staged in Miami at Soho Studios. The Miami edition has been held every year since then, aside from 2020.
Alongside the Miami edition, the festival has also had editions in California, New York, as well as various international locations, including Australia, Canada, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Thailand, and Austria.
The festival is a hip-hop music festival and has previously featured performances by Future, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Wiz Khalifa, and Kendrick Lamar, as well as Playboi Carti, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Yeat, and more. Rolling Loud is considered one of the largest hip-hop music festivals in the world, with more than 200,000 people attending the Miami edition in 2019.
