Rumor has it that Taylor Swift is being considered as the performer for this year's Super Bowl.
As of this writing, there is no official confirmation about it. However, fans seem to think that the songstress, who will be debuting her 12th studio album soon, is the top choice for Super Bowl 2026.
Billboard echoed the rumors as well, prompting fans to flock to social media to rave about the idea. Here's how one user reacted, for instance:
"Guys. This would be THE halftime show if this is true. Please do it @taylorswift13 @taylornation13."
The comments didn't end there, as the excitement ostensibly reverberated through the comments section:
"She could be the first artist EVER to be PAID to perform… I know they’re desperate to get her!!!" one fan quipped.
"This would probably be the most watched halftime show of all time if we’re being honest…" another chimed in.
"she’d eat that so much," someone else noted.
"That stage was perfect for her getting a massive spotlight, a global audience like that," a fourth user opined.
See how the rest of the microblogging platform is reacting to the news that Taylor Swift might be performing on such a large scale soon:
"Taylor would be amazing, but I don’t think she will do it for a few more years at least. She probably wants to watch the game and Travis (assuming they get to the Super Bowl again)," one user speculated.
"wait… it’s never happening imo but it’s the highest possibility since she’s in an era called “the life of a SHOWGIRL”???? we might be getting that halftime show," another pointed out.
"Taylor Swift would never do the Super Bowl while Travis is an active player completely overshadowed Swifties would feel the stadium and it wouldn’t even be a football game anymore atp," yet another weighed in.
"Idk how to feel about this tbh as a fan i am more than excited it would be the best half time show but i am also worried she will get too much hate or maybe even booed she gets hate just for being shown in the screen in nfl games by the fans," a user voiced.
Users were visibly thrilled at the prospect of having the global popstar take to the stage, though many of them were also concerned for her.
Everything we know about Taylor Swift's possible Super Bowl halftime performance
For context, fans seem to think that Taylor Swift has been dropping easter eggs about her possible halftime performance. The biggest rumored one yet came from her recent appearance on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce's, podcast, New Heights.
At one point, Taylor Swift discussed her newfound love for making sourdough:
She said, “I’m just, like, always baking bread and texting my friends and being like, ‘Can I send you some bread? I need some feedback. Do you like this one better than you liked the other one? Like, I did the rise a little differently.”
However, fans were quick to point out that the Grammy-winning singer could have been referring to Sourdough Sam, who is the mascot for the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where the upcoming Super Bowl will be taking place.
In the segment, Taylor Swift also said that she thinks about making sourdough for “60%” of her time now, which, according to fans, alludes to the fact that it is the 60th edition of the Super Bowl. Furthermore, she thanked the co-host of the podcast, Jason Kelce, for screaming “47 seconds” when she debuted on the podcast. Levi's Stadium was reportedly the 47th venue on her Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift is now gearing up to debut her album The Life of a Showgirl on October 3, with tracks produced by the likes of Max Martin and Shellback.
