Lead guitarist of the rock band Guns N' Roses, Saul Hudson, AKA Slash, recently hinted that new music may be in the works. In an interview with Guitar World magazine, Saul noted,

"“There’s so much material at this point — it’s a matter of having the discipline to sit down and f**king get into it."

However, he added that Guns N' Roses may maintain caution and added,

"But the thing with Guns is, in my experience, you can never plan ahead. You can never sit down and go, ‘We’re going to take this time, and we’re going to do this.’ Every time we’ve done that, it falls apart.”

Without giving many details, Slash hopes that a new album may be "coming." He added,

“I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it. It’ll just happen when it happens.”

Is a new Guns N Roses album in the making? Slash responds

Guns N' Roses' Slash recently opened up about the stockpile of music the rock band has. However, he noted that their creative process is much different from others and that they have learned from previous experiences. He told Guitar World magazine that instead of thorough planning, their process is much more spontaneous. He explained,

“It just spontaneously happens through some sort of inspiration that triggers it. And the next thing you know, it’s off and running.”

The rock band last released the album Chinese Democracy in 2008, leaving fans wondering if they would hear new music anytime soon. According to Rolling Stone, other group members, including bassist Duff McKagan and guitarist Richard Fortus, had previously hinted at new music. However, the band members resonated with Saul's understanding of the creative process. In a 2019 interview with Truck Nation, McKagan noted,

“Oh, it’s real, but the fun part and the cool part about Guns N’ Roses is we don’t really talk about it, and what happens next just happens."

According to Tone Deaf magazine, the new potential album would bring Saul and McKagan together since their 1993 album, The Spaghetti Incident?
