Chappell Roan is currently making headlines as the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter opened up about who she is dating. The American singer recently appeared on one of the latest episodes of the Call Her Daddy podcast hosted by Alex Cooper. Chappell, who had just risen to prominence, got involved in a candid conversation with Cooper.
Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, commonly known by her professional name, Chappell Roan, discussed several things with Cooper, including her personal life. When Alex asked her whether she is single or dating someone, the 27-year-old pop star revealed that she is indeed dating someone.
The moment Chappell confirms that she is dating someone, naturally, the next question that arises is — who? Well, the fact that she revealed she is dating someone, the "Pink Pony Club" singer, did not disclose the identity of her current romantic partner.
However, Roan mentioned that she has been dating for the past six months and also made it quite clear that the person she is dating now is not a "he" but a "she." Chappell informed Cooper that she met her mystery romantic partner "through a friend."
In a September 2024 Rolling Stone interview, Chappell talked about seeing a girl who was not a part of the industry and was a complete outsider. She also claimed that she happened to like that girl a lot. The singer also praised her by calling her awesome and someone secure. However, now we know she was talking about her mystery partner.
However, while discussing the pop singer's mystery partner, Cooper asked whether it was a casual relationship or not. Chappell was quick enough to reply:
"No. It's serious. I'm very in love."
As the conversation continued, Roan revealed that their relationship has lasted for a considerable amount of time and mentioned that she doesn't know how to go about dating now. The pop star explained:
"I'm dating the same person that I was dating before it blew up. I'm not sure how I would date now. I think it would actually be a nightmare. I think I would be, like, so f---ing single right now."
Roan also mentioned how scared she is of the idea of dating someone new. The singer further added:
"I'm scared. I don't trust anyone. Any new person that I am texting, I'm like, I'm assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else. That's why I can't."
One of the interesting parts of the podcast was when she urged people to be single, even though she is currently dating. Not to mention, she even called herself "pro-single." Chappell Roan advised:
"Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can 100% be okay alone before you date. That's what I found out. I had a great time when I was single. And I know that I will be okay. And now I have an awesome time that I'm with someone."
The "Red Wine Supernova" singer also touched upon the topic of coming out as a lesbian on Alex Cooper's podcast. As per certain reports, Chappell had relationships with men before she publicly came out as a lesbian in 2018. Previously, the pop star also talked about having "performative hookups" with men.
