More about Billie Eilish's iconic hair colors, as singer opens up about her favorite
Billie Eilish was asked about her favorite hair color over the years in a question from Colman Domingo. The nine-time Grammy-winning singer responded by saying that her black and green hair was her favorite and helped her make a statement. She said:
"Well, I really like to romanticize two specific periods in my life: the green roots and the red roots. Green and black especially felt like such a personal and career-defining look for me."
Billie Eilish further shared that although she had not seen many people with the same unique hair color as she did, she found empowerment in her black and green hair, adding that it helped her become who she was meant to be.
"I’d never really seen anything like that before and it felt really nice to have something that felt like mine. That shade of green was like my color for so long. I loved it so much. Hair, nails, clothes. It was such a magical period for me, and it was so intense. I felt like I was becoming who I am."
During the interview, apart from her hair color, Billie Eilish also revealed how she hated her name growing up. This came in response to the question asked by actor Idris Elba, who asked her if she liked her name as a child.
Billie Eilish, who was named after her grandfather, Billy, replied to the question by saying that she hated the name while growing up, but revealed that she cannot think of being called anything other than Billie.
"I thought Billie was a boy's name. I remember just being so mad, and all I wanted was to have a girly name, like Violet or like Lavender, some sort of, you know, pretty flowery name."
The "Bird of Feather" singer further added:
"Now there’s no other name in the universe that could be my name besides Billie. love my name so so so much. It really is the only possible choice for who I am. I just feel like it’s exactly perfect for me and who I am."
Billie Eilish was also quizzed by the likes of Greta Gerwig, Sabrina Carpenter, Nicki Minaj, Jane Fonda, and Ariana Grande, among others. She recently made a surprise guest appearance at Coachella on Saturday, as she joined Charlie XCX to perform their hit single, "Guess."
