Mother Monster(Lady Gaga) was back, and she didn’t hold back.
Applause erupted at the Coachella 2025 as Lady Gaga took over the stage on Friday night, serving theatrics and otherworldly performances. The nearly 2-hour set featured a mix of her fan-favorite bangers and new tracks from her latest album, Mayhem.
Kicking off with the moody Bloody Mary, Gaga took the stans to a full-blown concert experience. Her setlist, filled with her throwback hits Judas, Paparazzi, and Poker Face, felt like a love letter to her Little Monsters. Fans were also treated to Gaga’s live performances of her latest releases, Disease and Killah.
But it wasn’t just the music that left fans awestruck. Alongside her powerful live vocals, Gaga’s theatrical mise-en-scène (from skeletons to an aviary prison to a massive skirt, you name it!) and choreography looked straight out of the music videos of her greatest hits.
The pop royalty recreated scenes from her previous MVs at her Coachella stage, particularly her metal armor and crutches during the performance of her 2009 hit Paparazzi. She kept the crowd singing as she performed a mix of her old and new bops like Perfect Celebrity, Born This Way, Alejandro, and Die With A Smile.
Gaga wrapped up her set with her electropop smash Bad Romance while donning elongated chicken paws and an elaborate white crown, living up to her epithet as Mother Monster.
“Best performance in history”: Lady Gaga sets the bar sky-high at Coachella 2025
Following Lady Gaga’s Coachella set, social media lit up with praise for the pop icon. Her name quickly climbed to the top of X’s trends list, proving that music fans and festival-goers were eagerly anticipating her performance.
For @ThePopTingz, the two-hour set was Gaga’s “BEST performance to date,” adding:
“She ate every second—vocals flawless, stage presence otherworldly. ‘The Garden of Eden’ and ‘Poker Face’ were peak artistry. She ate. No one’s touching her.”
User @Invisblechains echoed their remark, saying:
“Officially Lady Gaga’s performance at Coachella marked as THE BEST performance in HISTORY.”
More praises erupted on the platform, particularly from @bloomthisway, who wrote:
“Each frame in here looking like a museum-worthy painting, her craftsmanship is so exquisite.”
Netizen @gaganotify, an account dedicated to the Love Game hitmaker, raved about what they dubbed as Gaga’s “finest performance yet.” They wrote:
“Every moment felt like a fever dream—or perhaps a gothic one? Nearly 20 years into her career, Lady Gaga has delivered her finest performance yet: two hours of electrifying opera charged with theatrics and a ritualistic ode to her stage persona.”
They went on to commend the singer’s “stunning choreography, powerful vocals, breathtaking imagery, and iconic costumes,” adding that they were “beyond proud” of Gaga and her team for her “meticulously planned and executed” stage.
Lady Gaga is set to return to the Coachella stage on April 18 for another round of electrifying performances.
