“Can I just say it on my own time?”: Cardi B on keeping her pregnancy private, even from her parents

Cardi B opens up about keeping her pregnancy a secret. The rapper recently sat down with Gayle King for an interview with CBS Mornings and shared details about her 3rd pregnancy with baby No. 4.

She spoke about how she wanted to share the exciting news on her own terms.

"I just was like, 'Can I just say it on my own time?' Like, I'm not hiding. On my time, on my own terms. Let me close some deals first, you know what I'm saying? Let me close some deals first."

"And it's like, you don't really want to say right away that you're pregnant," she added. "It's like, 'Let me see a couple of more sonograms. Let my baby be healthy.'"

Cardi B also revealed that she didn't tell her parents about the baby either, and she planned to let them know before the interview aired.

"They just be looking at me," she said. "I'm very scared of my parents!"

Cardi B is dropping her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Am I The Drama?,’ which is the follow-up to her 2018 debut, ‘Invasion of Privacy,’ on 19th September, and fans can't wait. The album is going to be a long one, as it features 23 tracks, including chart-topping hits like UP and WAP, along with the recently released single, Imaginary Playerz, which gave us a bit of a taste of what the album will be like.

On the topic of the album, she hilariously said, "By the way, now that I talked about it, y'all better get my album. Y'all wanted to know, right? Now you know. Now y'all can buy my album, so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff. I told y'all, now go support my album 'cause I'm a mother of four now!'"

Further adding how she is ready to put on a show even when she is pregnant, the Bodak Yellow singer said,

"I’m very ready. Even when I’m pregnant I’m very, very ready. Because I’m getting my body ready. I stretch it out. I stretch so as soon as I give birth, tour rehearsal starts. Yeah. I don’t come from weak women."

Cardi B shares three children with her estranged husband, rapper Offset: daughter Kulture Kiari, 7; son Wave Set, 4; and daughter Blossom Belle, making baby number 4 the first child she has with her boyfriend and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Diggs himself also has an 8-year-old daughter named Nova.
