“Are they dating?”: Fans speculate after Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau spotted dining together in Montreal

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau spark romance rumors after being spotted having a nightcap on a terrace.

TMZ was the first to obtain photos of the mega pop star, 40, and former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, wining and dining at Le Violon. The Daily Mail has also reported that their chat was intimate as they leaned in to one another over the table.

They also reportedly shared several dishes, including a lobster, as they sipped on cocktails. TMZ further reported that the two went for a walk together at Mount Royal Park in Montreal earlier that same day.

Fans have since begun reacting to the news on social media with utter confusion, such as this one user who probed:

"are they dating?"

The comments about Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau didn't end there:

"They are definitely planning to get married," one user jokingly suggested.

'“Yeah so anyways, my dad like idk ran Cuba for a while. It was a whole thing. What do your parents do?”,' another jokingly imitated.

She is currently on the road for her Lifetimes Tour, for which she will perform this Tuesday in Ottawa. She will then hit Montreal and Quebec City later this week.

The Daily Mail has reported that the songstress has been battling tough times lately, as she broke up with her former fiancé, saw her 143 album flop, and got dragged online for her behavior aboard the Blue Origin, which took her to space and back in April.

As of this writing, it remains unclear why she was with the former PM of Canada, though Samantha Jin, who works as a communications consultant for Le Violon, told The Canadian Press that the two sat at the restaurant for over two hours and were "kind and warm" to staff.
