Colombian pop star Shakira is officially once again lending her voice to Gazelle, the pop diva from Disney's Zootopia universe. The Hips Don't Lie singer has returned with a new single titled "Zoo." It is written for the upcoming sequel Zootopia 2, which is slated to hit theaters on November 26, 2025.

The new track has been co-written by Shakira, Ed Sheeran, and Blake Slatkin. It was dropped worldwide on October 10, 2025, days after its exclusive premiere on Disney Hits (SiriusXM channel 133).

She first voiced Gazelle in the 2016 original. The movie grossed over $1 billion and became one of Disney's most beloved animated films. As Shakira dropped a new track, fans reacted, declaring:

"Mother is back for round two."

Fans' reactions to Shakira's new track 'Zoo' for 'Zootopia 2'

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,

"Shakira has released her new song ‘Zoo’ from ‘Zootopia 2'."

Fans soon gathered under the comments of the X post to share their thoughts about the song. Below are some of their remarks:

"Wonder if this will reach 'Try Everything' levels of catchiness or just fade into soundtrack obscurity," stated a netizen.
"She understood the assignment. Disney soundtracks been quiet till now 😌🎤✨", lauded another.
"Even the old river finds new paths to flow. Shakira dropping “Zoo” shows that talent keeps moving, always finding fresh ways to dance into hearts. A song may be new, but the spirit behind it is the same fire that never dies," penned a third.

Others also chimed in:

"ngl, Disney knew what they were doing pairing her voice with that vibe again. “Zoo” sounds like it’s about to live rent-free in every kid’s playlist and their parents’ heads 😭🔥", hyped a fan.
"This is exciting. It's been a while since I heard any of her newer songs. Mostly jamming to old ones," commented another.
"Shakira just dropped “Zoo” for Zootopia 2 and it’s giving jungle fever, pop diva, and animated chaos all in one roar. 🐾🎶 Disney said plot, Shakira said playlist," added a third.

"Zoo" features a danceable pop rhythm. The lyrics blend English and Spanish. Notable lines are:

"Come on, get on up!/ We’re wild and we can’t be tamed/ and we’re turning the floor into a zoo, ooh-ooh!"
"Es una fiesta que sube como la espuma!/ Yo por ti iría hasta la luna, de ida y vuelta."

Shakira has also been performing across the globe in 2025 as part of her latest tour.
