Mac Sabbath is a food-themed parody tribute band of Black Sabbath. The band conducts parodies of Black Sabbath songs by rewriting lyrics of their song into humorous fast food motifs. The band was formed in 2014 and consists of Ronald Osbourne, Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and Catburglar. The band members operate under pseudonyms to preserve their anonymity and are managed by Mike Odd.
The band started gaining in popularity in late 2014 and began touring across the globe, subsequently playing at festivals such as Download Festival. The touring eventually culminated in the release of their first single, Pair-a-Buns, in 2017. Pair-a-Buns is a parody of the Black Sabbath song Paranoid.
This was followed by another release by Mac Sabbath, Sweet Beef, in 2018. Like their previous release, Sweet Beef is a parody of the Black Sabbath song Sweet Leaf.
Mac Sabbath met Black Sabbath member Ozzy Osbourne in 2018. Ozzy Osbourne talked about his meeting with the tribute band, stating:
"To be honest, I was just watching the clownery. It’s fun – it’s a spoof on Black Sabbath and if you can’t stand the laugh, don’t fu***ng do it! They did a good job."
The band's upcoming tour will feature supporting performances by Schizophonics and Descartes a Kant. Descartes de Kant is a band from Guadalajara.
