Chappell Roan interviewed Billie Eilish for a British Vogue article and got the celebrated singer to answer some burning questions. The April 14, 2025, article saw the Birds of a Feather crooner interacting with some of her close friends, including Grammy Award-winning singer Roan.
Roan went straight to business and asked Eilish why she had stopped having long nails. The singer replied that having long nails limited her guitar and piano playing abilities:
"Hello, you. OK, well, God, I love having long nails so much, but I can’t play any instruments with them. I love to pick up a guitar or play piano when at home or on tour,"
She added:
"And I just can’t do that when I have insanely long nails. I pop some on every now and then though. I miss them so much. Love you, Chappell. Thank you for asking."

Billie Eilish’s unique interview with the magazine involved several celebrities asking the talented singer some questions, which demonstrated the close bond between celebrities and musicians. Shw was asked to reflect on her musical catalog and how it had shaped her character as a person. The singer replied to Michaela Coel that she still battled with doubts, fear, and pressure:
"The older I get, the more periods of doubt and fear I experience and the more pressure I feel. When more people know me, more people have something to say. It can be hard to remember to trust myself or even believe in myself sometimes,"
She added that she was working to overcome negative feelings about her work, and she was doing well. Alex Wolff asked Billie Eilish about her favorite Beatles song, and she replied that it was impossible to pick a favorite. She went on to make a list of the ones she loved:
"So impossible to pick a favorite. I’m actually looking through everything right now, and I literally cannot narrow it down at all. “Something” never gets old,"
She added:
“I’m Looking Through You” is actually one of my favorite songs ever. “She’s Leaving Home,” “In My Life,” “A Day in the Life,” “And I Love Her,” “Michelle,” “Julia,”... Like, I could just go on and on. I feel bad not naming more."
She revealed to Nat Wolff that Oklou, a French musician, was one of her favorite artists to listen to currently. SZA noted that Billie experimented with soulful runs and tones in her latest project and asked the latter what inspired the new sound. Billie Eilish replied:
"Honestly, I’ve been doing so much training now for a while, and my voice has gotten so much better and stronger and like I just can play in a way that I never have been able to before,”
Eilish also revealed in the interview that she promised herself that she would experiment with her voice whilst recording the same way she did when she was casually in her studio as she did when she was by herself.
Billie Eilish is currently on her Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour, which will conclude in July 2025.
