Burna Boy's upcoming album will be his eighth

Burna Boy's upcoming album will be his eighth, and it will be his first new release since 2023's I Told Them....The singer first teased the album in 2024, then again in February 2025.

The singer released the first track of the album, TaTaTa feat. Travis Scott on May 21, 2025. The track has been doing well in the commercial charts since its release, including at the 5th spot on the US Afrobeats Songs chart.

Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, started his career in 2012, releasing his debut studio album, L.I.F.E, in 2013. He got his first major success with the album African Giant, released in 2019. In 2022, the singer once again duplicated his success with the album Love, Damini.

Burna Boy released his latest studio album, I Told Them..., in 2023. The singer talked about the album in an exclusive interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe that was released on August 22, 2023, elaborating on the meaning of the title Told Them...:

"They say a lot of times that prophets are not really recognizing their own home and sh*t. So this one is for the part of my own home and the people in my own home who didn't believe or doubt it, or still doubt, or any type of thing."

The singer continued:

"And not just them, it's like everyone that ever heard me speak in the past or when I'd first started. You can go back to my old tweets and stuff. I basically predicted everything that's happening now. So this is basically that. It's fun to tell people something is true, and they doubt it, and then they end up seeing it. There's no greater feeling."

He later talked about how traveling across the world helps him know more about himself:

"Man, the more I see the world and the more I experience just makes me understand myself a bit more, understand why things are the way they are a bit more. I just have a lot of answers to a lot of questions I used to have and previously didn't have answers for."

Burna Boy, aside from his solo career, has also worked on Steel & Copper with DJDS. He has also collaborated with Dave, Mahalia, Jorja Smith, Stormzy, Sam Smith, and Coldplay, among others.
