Drunk Elephant's three products might cause skin irritation or reactions; hence, the brand has voluntarily recalled the three products. They include Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser, Protini Polypeptide Cream, and Lala Retro Whipped Cream, along with samples of Lala added in the O-Bloos Rosi Drops packaging. The products were recalled in the US for a limited supply of slots.

The skincare brand urged its customers not to use the recalled products as they were defective. They also assured consumers that the O-Bloos Rosi Drops product was uncompromised and could be used without worry.

What ingredients got mixed up in these three Drunk Elephant products?

The voluntary recall notice was updated by the Drunk Elephant's Instagram account and on the website on November 17.

The brand highlighted the effectiveness of the recalled products was compromised by ingredient mix-up between surfactants and preservatives during manufacturing. As a result, the formulation of some of the recalled products was affected. For instance, the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser got mixed with Microkill COS, which is supposed to be added to cosmetics and is not featured in the ingredients.

The Lala Retro Whipped Cream and Protini Polypeptide Cream were mixed with Mirataine CBS, which was not included in the ingredient list. It is usually added to cosmetics, and due to no preservatives being added, it can also lead to bacterial growth.

Drunk Elephant took accountability, saying:

"The quality of our products and the satisfaction of our customers are our top priorities. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

What should drunk elephant customers do now?

To help the customers, the brand also gave the LOT codes on their website, which includes the affected products. Customers can check the LOT codes in the FAQ section of the Voluntary Recall Notice. If the product matches the LOT code, the consumer should immediately stop using it.

Affected products can be returned to the brand in exchange for a full refund. To do so, customers can fill out the return form given on their website and send the product back. Once the product's LOT code matches the affected batch's LOT code, Drunk Elephant will give the full refund.

In case the customer bought only O-Bloos Rosi Drops drops, it's safe to use. Also, if the LOT code doesn't match the affected product's LOT code, it's safe to use.

Drunk Elephant's voluntary recall reflects the importance of safety and quality control in skincare products.
