Rice Krispies Treats are returning as ice cream and ice cream sandwiches, and some foodies think the variation might be too hard on the teeth. It would seem that 2025 is the year of unexpected food flavors, as a possible collaboration between Pringles and Miller Lite Beer for a “Beer Can Chicken” flavor is on the horizon according to Parade.
Rice Krispies Treat ice cream flavors might present an opportunity to revisit childhood breakfast memories and experience the rice treats in frozen form. @mouthattack on Instagram shared the update with followers with the caption:
“Rice Krispies Treats fans can now enjoy their favorite snack in a new way—as ice cream! Kellanova and Golden West Food Group have partnered to create frozen desserts inspired by the iconic treat, available as pints and sandwiches. The lineup includes Original Ice Cream, Original Ice Cream Sandwiches, Strawberry Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwiches. Each sandwich features two crispy marshmallow squares for a perfect balance of creamy and chewy textures,”
The food update account also inserted a statement from David Lee, Senior Director of Global Licensing and Cultural Marketing at Kellanova;
“These frozen treats bring the beloved flavors and textures of Rice Krispies Treats to life in an entirely new way.”
Several Netizens feared that their dentition might be affected by the frozen Rice Krispies.
@bvv.xo responded to the post:
“Just hurts my front teeth thinking about it.”
Other Instagram users shared the same sentiments, declaring that the frozen treats might be harmful to the teeth and gums.
Others expressed excitement over the new variety of Krispy treats and wondered why other cereal brands hadn’t explored the idea yet.
Netizens were not impressed by the news and called for the return of Krispy Treats cereal.
