A look at Ben & Jerry's 'Churn Out the Vote' ice cream amid the viral Kamala Harris mimic video

Ben & Jerry's is officially endorsing Kamala Harris for the 2024 elections and announced plans to launch an ice cream flavor inspired by Harris, in August 2024. The Vermont-based brand dropped the all-new 'Churn Out the Vote' ice cream a month later on September 12, 2024.

The new flavor was created under the 'Ben’s Best' branding and was an ode to a viral coconut tree meme about Harris. The meme originates from an anecdote about Harris' mother, which she shared at a ceremony in July 2024.

Speaking at the event, Kamala Harris recalled:

“My mother used to — she would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, 'I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?' 'You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.'”

The Churn Out the Vote ice cream is a limited-edition flavor created in partnership with the Black Voters Matter Capacity Building Institute (BVM). It features a creamy vanilla ice cream base and is loaded with fudge chips, pretzel swirls, and chocolate mousse ripples.
