Donald Trump is ostensibly slated to take another shot at Kamala Harris as he reportedly heads to the multi-billion dollar conglomerate McDonald's in Pennsylvania this coming weekend to “work the fry cooker," the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The move comes on the heels of his doubts about Harris having worked for the chain in Alameda, California, during the summer of 1983.
The former president, who is slated to turn up at the Steelers-Jets game in Pittsburgh on Sunday, told the rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania in September that he wants to work in the kitchen and “see how it is.” CNN National Correspondent and host of CNN’s Election 101, Kristen Holmes first broke the news on Tuesday that he plans to follow through on his claims this weekend.
Per usual the internet began trolling the former president, noting that he is stooping to new lows to discredit the Vice President. As one user posted on X, alongside an AI-generated image of Trump at the outlet,
"He's doing it, Trump will be officially working at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania this weekend to prove that he has worked at McDonald's longer than Kamala. This is a new level of trolling."
Legions of trollers online took to the comments section to stake their takes, mocking Donald Trump for his moves:
"Trump better not mess up my order! The fries gotta be hot and fresh," one user stated, jokingly.
"LMAOOO Mr. President can I get two Big Macs and a signed MAGA hat sir," yet another poked fun.
'"Look bro, I am going to work at McDonald's just to say that I have worked there longer than Kamala and I make the fries better too. I also promise to fix all the milk shake machines!"' another mimicked.
"Haha I can just imagine someone in the Trump team saying how funny it would be if this happened, and then everyone else started laughing... and now it's happening haha," someone stated.
The internet was flooded with memes and witty remarks upon learning the news.
"A drunk walks into McDonald's, stumbles up to the counter, looks over, and sees Donald Trump working the fry station. He rubs his eyes, looks again, turns around, walks out, and heads straight to Rehab," one user jested.
"The man trolls better than anyone!!" another user claimed.
"Gawd I love this man! He has a level of petty only my ex mother in law has achieved!" yet another chimed in.
The internet was seemingly divided between those who saw this as a brilliant move and others, who saw it as him being petty. Others simply left AI-generated images of the former president, clad in a McD red and yellow apron.
Donald Trump doubles down on claims that he will be working at McDonald's this Sunday
In speaking with his audience in Indiana on September 23, Donald Trump said,
“I think I’m going to go to a McDonald’s next week someplace – it might not be here in your place. I’m going to go to a McDonald’s and I’m going to work the French fry job for about half an hour – I wanna see how it is.”
On October 10, during a rally in Reno, Nevada, he reiterated his pledge:
“Do you know what I am doing next week? I am going to a McDonald’s to work!”
Donald Trump also claimed that his half-hour stint would still be "longer and harder" than his opponent has ever worked at McDonald’s. Donald Trump's pledge is a direct mockery of Harris' claims that she "did the fries" as a student. MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle asked the Democratic nominee last month,
"I just want to ask you, yes or no. At any point in your life have you served two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions…”
Harris replied,
“I have, it was not a small job, I did the fries. Part of the reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald’s is because there are people who work at McDonald’s in our country who are trying to raise a family. I worked there as a student.”
Notably, per the Daily Beast, Harris did work at McDonald's between her freshman and sophomore years as a student at Howard University. A representative said she "worked the register and manned the fry and ice cream machines," just to earn some more pocket money.
