Family Guy’s iconic character, Peter Griffin, recently appeared on the popular YouTube show Hot Ones. This episode is special because it commemorates the show's 25th anniversary and marks a historic moment for an animated character (Peter) to attempt the spicy wings challenge. The show’s unpredictable nature has left many fans laughing and garnering various responses.

In this special episode, Peter Griffin takes on the hot wing challenge while answering trivia questions about him and his family. The show's specifics involve guests eating wings while answering questions as they take spicier wings, and Peter Griffin was no exception. All the crazy stories that he tells during the episode are related to family life, such as the favorite child or the secret to a happy marriage.

While most guests tapped out before their wings could tap them back, Peter—being Peter—decided to go all in. Spoiler alert: it didn't end well. Add more hot sauce to Family Guy's chaos. He is the first animated character to experience full intestinal distress during the show, which leads to a wild and messy end that has never been done before on Hot Ones.

This unexpected crossover was well-received by the audience, with a user commenting, “Bro went nuclear on that toilet 😭

How did netizens react?

More social media users weighed in on Family Guy's Peter's feature on Hot Ones, saying:

Another user added, “This is my goat”.
“Can't wait to see Peter Griffin take on those wings! His hilarious reactions will definitely spice things up 🔥”, read a comment.
A user noted, “This is a Collab we all needed💛”

The future of Family Guy

Currently negotiating for its renewal, Family Guy Season 23 is expected to be aired on Fox sometime in 2025. Like Peter Griffin, his decision-making skills have become a little out of whack. Fox shook things for the first time in years, swapping Family Guy to a new time slot on Sundays. While The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers returned during the Fall season, Family Guy went M.I.A.

However, Peter Griffin let the cat out of the bag during his Hot Ones trip, stating that there were more new episodes. There is a Halloween special on Hulu in which Twisters and Hit Man actor Glen Powell goes head-to-head against Joe Swanson in the ultimate pumpkin-growing showdown.

Furthermore, Peter Griffin stated that there will also be a Christmas special coming to Hulu this year. Thus, even though Family Guy continues to hide-and-seek around its return to Fox, there’s still the joy of Christmas special.

About Family Guy

The animated sitcom Family Guy – developed by Seth MacFarlane – has been a staple of American television since 1999. In the show, now entering its 23rd season, the Griffin family aligns themselves with other buffoonish, satiric elements of contemporary life in the fictive Quahog, Rhode Island.

The show involves elements that may be regarded as politically incorrect jokes, such as cutaway gags and other cultural references. On the show, they usually parody politics or other aspects of American social life.

Fox officially announced the show’s return for a 23rd season in 2025 under the Animation Domination block. All of the main characters are back, with MacFarlane again voicing five characters alongside Borstein, Kunis, and Green.
