The 2024 US presidential election is coming to an end, and Donald Trump's public image has only grown stronger than ever—perhaps not always in the best way. Renowned for his bold declarations and snappy comments, the former president has been known to be a source for memes.

From his claims about migrants eating pets to touting himself as “a leader on fertilization,” it's safe to say one thing: Donald Trump is anything but shy. Regardless, as the political season ostensibly intensifies, Vice President Kamala Harris' adversary has undoubtedly offered a comedic relief.

As such, here's a brisk list of 6 memes-- out of an ocean of them-- that left the internet in giggles.

6 times Donald Trump was subjected to mockery online

1) Trump claims migrants eat pets

Back in September, during the presidential debate, Donald Trump claimed that migrants in Springfield, Ohio, have been resorting to wolfing down their pet cats and dogs. His exact words were:

"In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating — they’re eating the pets of the people that live there."

He doubled down on his stance, recanting an instance from TV where he heard someone say, “Their dog was eaten by the people that went there.” As expected-- the internet went ballistic.

2) Trump claims he's the best at fertility

During the same presidential debate in September, not long after he contended that migrants ate their domestic companions, Donald Trump boldly declared himself the king of fertility. Or, in his own words, “a leader on fertilization.” He made the statement while talking about IVF- something he strongly opposes.

Regardless, the phrase was enough fodder for the internet to spew out a plethora of memes, with many spewing cutthroat remarks and jesting at his expense.

3) Trump almost gets assassinated

The Republican presidential candidate was subjected to an assassination attempt during one of his campaign rallies in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, July 13. While the gravity of the situation was not lost on his supporters, his critics, however, were another ballgame.

Many took to X to poke fun at the situation, morphing the intense moment into one of amusement, lightheartedness, and jest. While some superimposed the former president's face onto a scene from The Matrix, others portrayed him as an action hero.

4) Trump on his "concept for a plan"

The September presidential election was ostensibly a meme magnet, given that the former President dished out a plethora of contentious claims and meme-worthy moments for the chronically online to chew on. In one instance, he was speaking about his plans to undo Obamacare, or more specifically, the Affordable Care Act.

Time and again, Donald Trump has iterated his plans to repeal the act and make it "much better." When the moderator pushed for more, Trump rambled out the phrase,

"I have concepts of a plan.”

5) Trump and Musk get trolled

This August, Trump-endorser Elon Musk took to X to interview the could-be president. However, the internet started later than expected as a result of some bugs. Musk acknowledged the situation, noting,

"There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down. Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later."

Regardless, as usual, the seemingly minor mistake was enough for the internet to go on. One user generated an AI-generated image of the two billionaires, clad in trench coats, set against a gloomy background.

6) Trump on staying silent

Even when he doesn't speak, the internet strikes. During the Tuesday town hall in Pennsylvania just this month, the 78-year-old former president decided to blast some tunes and zone out into it following a 39-minute disruption at the event.

When social media caught wind of it, many began positing that Donald Trump's alleged dementia was showing. Soon, #DementiaDonald began trending online. As one user put it,

"If Trump wins, President Vance is a certainty. Trump’s DEMENTIA has been obvious for years. The P25 folks know. If Trump makes it to January, they will remove him with the 25th Amendment. That’s the plan. `Trump is going to a long term care facility."

These are only a handful of the memes Donald Trump has been subjected to, and only time will tell what the internet comes up with next.
