Memes have been the only thing constant in an ever-shifting political, environmental, social, and everything-in-between arena. In the wake of Hurricane Helen's destruction, and with the 2024 presidential election imminent, one thing is for sure: everyone needs a good laugh. And so, the one reliable source is the unending shortage of memes.

As we dive into another Monday, there's nothing like a good meme to lighten the load and get the week off to a cheerful start. The internet has once again blessed us with a fresh batch of hilarious memes circulating social media, lifting spirits and keeping the Monday blues at bay.

From poking fun at Diddy's predicament to laughing at former President Donald Trump's antics, here are the top five memes taking over this Monday, October 21, 2024, that are sure to bring a smile to your face as you begin the new week.

Check out some of the funniest memes this Monday

1) Donald Trump works at McD

Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump debuted as a McDonald's worker just this week when he served fries at an outlet in Pennsylvania. In true Trump fashion, the stint was meant to be a dig at his adversary, Kamala Harris, who has consistently maintained having worked there when she was in college.

As such, a disbelieving Trump took to one of the outlets to prove that he'd be better at it and that his whole time behind the counter would be longer than she allegedly worked there. However, the internet was brutal, with many adding funny songs and speeding up the process to ridicule the could-be president.

2) P Diddy? More like P Diddler

Diddy has been hit with a litany of alleged charges involving s*xual misconduct. While the situation may be dire for the now-disgraced mogul, who has been behind bars since last month, the internet remains as ruthless as ever. Several memes have been emerging, all of which poke fun at the billionaire's predicament.

As the internet may be well aware, just last month, the mogul's homes were raided, and hundreds of bottles of baby oil were found, thought to be used at his reportedly infamous "freak off" parties. As such, several memes have since been conceived about the same.

3) Ben Affleck on being alive

It's a running gag on the internet that Ben Affleck only comes alive around Matt Damon. He's seemingly passing out his days in existential dread every other time. Whether it's by being married to Jennifer Lopez or divorcing her, his expressions remain the same.

As such, the internet has found a sense of connection in Ben Affleck's resting dread face, and the gen-z, in particular, use his photos to convey their emotions-- or instead, to tell the world they're bored. This is just one of many examples of memes about the Batman actor:

4) Jennifer Lopez on her many marriages

Yet another running gag on the internet involves Ben Affleck's former other half, Jennifer Lopez. JLo, as the world knows her, has been married and divorced four times, the most recent being within the last six months. As such, several rumors have begun swirling since then, linking her to Canadian rapper Drake.

Regardless, the failed relationships and many flings have not gone unnoticed among fans, with many poking fun at the singer, claiming that she might be the problem after all-- in a lighthearted way. Take a look at this meme:

5) Monday blues

Monday itself has been a meme-worthy subject for many years, given that it's the start of a new week of work, school, and college for many, not to mention that it's 6 days more until the weekend rolls around again.

Some may go out partying, or others may choose to lie in bed; whatever the vice may be, no one likes Monday. As such, every Monday, as if on cue, the internet comes out with a Monday meme to combat the imminent boredom and monotony.

These 5 memes will lighten your day and help you combat the Monday blues.
