On Tuesday, a Federal judge ordered Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump's former attorney/advisor, to hand over all his luxury possessions, including his Manhattan penthouse, to the Georgia election workers. The move follows Ruby Freeman and AsShaye 'Shaye' Moss' defamation suit filed against him.

Ruby and Shaye had earlier won a defamation suit of $148 million against Ruby Giuliani for his remarks that accused the mother-daughter duo of vote laundering in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Guiliani's remark made the election workers, who are also black, a target of alleged racist and vile attacks from Trump supporters.

Ms. Moss and Ms. Freeman had to file an injunction once more on December 18, 2023, as Mr. Guiliano continued to malign their name by repeating the false claims despite his claims being debunked and the women winning the defamation suit.

What did Rudy Giuliani say?

After the 2020 elections, in which Trump lost the presidential race, former president Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, while defending Trump, claimed that the temporary election workers in Georgia, Freeman, and Rose, committed election fraud by removing ballots and recounting them.

Giuliani also accused Freeman and Moss of passing USB drives like they were ''vials of heroin or cocaine" during the ballot counting process and produced security footage as proof. At one point, NBC News also reported that the video footage was highly edited. It was later reported that they were passing a Ginger Mint.

Donald Trump also made false comments about Ms Freeman in January 2023 on Truth Social:

Wow! Has anyone seen the Ruby Freeman “contradictions” of her sworn testimony? Now this is “BIG STUFF.”Look what was captured by Cobb County police body cameras on January 4, 2021. “And everything they are saying is false. Everything from the quote unquote SUITCASES OF THE BALLOT BOXES, TO THE WHY WE OPENED THEM BACK UP. EVERYTHING THEY SAID WAS FALSE.THE FBI…REACHED OUT TO ME ONLY TO CLEAR MY SOCIAL MEDIA (evidence tampering?)…COUNT WAS LOW, IT WAS REALLY LOW.” Now it gets really bad.

Aftermath of the allegations by Rudy Giuliani

The allegations against the duo seriously affected their life, the pair said; they were harassed, issued death threats, and allegedly caused Ms Freeman to flee her house in fear of being attacked.

Based on the claims made by Trump and his former attorney, Rudy Giuliani, Georgia’s State Election Board conducted a years-long investigation and finally cleared Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Shaye Moss. Based on the FBI investigation, the committee reported that the claims made against Ms Moss and Ms Freeman were unsubstantiated.

On August 2023, based on the defamation suit filed by the pair Freeman and Moss, Rudy Giuliani was found to have committed defamation by federal Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court in Washington since Mr. Giuliani was unable to prove that his claims were not false. The mother-daughter duo provided evidence to suggest that the claims were untrue.

On December 2023, a federal jury asked Giuliani to pay $148 Million in damages for defamation and punitive and emotional distress caused to Ms Freemana and Ms Moss as a result of his accusations. After this judgment, Mr. Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in New York, but a judge dismissed the case, citing repeated "uncooperative conduct."

On October 22, 2024, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani to hand over his Manhattan apartment, worth about $5 million, a 1980 Mercedes-Benz SL 50, and other valuables to Freeman and Moss.

Rudy Giuliani also lost his New York Law license in July 2024 after his claims of election fraud were found to be untrue.
