A teenage boy, supporting Donald Trump, was taken into police custody for allegedly punching a woman named Kathleen Tomasko in Florida. The 70-year-old woman was participating in a rally in support of Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential elections, on Saturday. The woman claimed that the 17-year-old allegedly wore a Trump t-shirt when he attacked her.
According to USA Today, Kathleen and the police revealed the boy was wearing a t-shirt featuring Trump raising his middle finger with the American flag in the background. He allegedly punched her in the stomach and knocked her off her feet.
Kathleen was part of a nationwide Women's March "Rally on the Bridle" called by Harris's supporters. It was taken out in support of the Vice President and Amendment 4, which would protect abortion rights in Florida's state constitution.
The rally was being carried out in the presence of security when the incident happened. Kathleen Tomasko said,
"There were these four boys that were, you know, Trumpers, and it's a Harris rally."
She continued,
"So they were going back and forth and antagonizing people, and our people were antagonizing them, I guess."
She also alleged that she was standing there when the "kid just turned around and punched me."
"He punched me in the gut and knocked me on the ground, and I fell back and hit the ground. Thank goodness the two ladies were behind me so I didn't hit my head."
A witness mentioned that the teenager also had an altercation with a man. When he walked away from it, he struck Tomasko.
According to Stuart Police Department's spokesperson Brian Bossio, the teenager was arrested by the police who arrived at the scene. He was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or over.
The alleged victim, Kathleen Tomasko, was knocked to the ground as she fell on her back. She had, at first, not wanted to visit the hospital.
