Camden Burch and Beau Schoenegge are the two Canton officers who are in police custody for the death of Frank Tyson. According to the Stark County Sheriff's Office records, the two 24-year-old cops have been charged with reckless homicide, a third-degree felony. According to 3News, the two will remain in police custody until their bond hearing on Monday.

On April 18, the two police officers responded to an AMVETS post about a 53-year-old man named Frank Tyson on Sherrick Road Southeast, Canton, Ohio. Police officials alleged that Tyson crashed his car and then ran away.

As the officers found Tyson and tried to secure him, he allegedly struggled and resisted arrest. Soon, he was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The police department immediately contacted the Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for an investigation.

Upon investigating the case, body camera footage from Camden Burch and Beau Schoenegge revealed Tyson lost his life in police custody. It showed how Tyson complained about not being able to breathe as the officers put a handcuff on him. One of the officers also allegedly placed his knee on Tyson's neck for a few seconds. Soon, the 53-year-old was unresponsive.

Following Tyson's death, Camden Burch and Beau Schoenegge were put on paid leave per the department's policy. According to WKYC, the Stark County Coroner's Office ruled Tyson's death as homicide.

As per NBC News, Frank Tyson's autopsy report revealed that the two causes of death were cardiopulmonary arrest, acute intoxication by cocaine and ethanol, and ischemic cardiovascular disease. Besides these, his obesity was also one of the reasons.

On Saturday, Stark County Prosecuting Attorney Kyle L. Stone shared several details about the case in a press conference. Stone revealed that the grand jury indicted homicide charges on the officers based on the investigation. As per CBS, if Camden Burch and Beau Schoenegge are convicted, they might face up to three years in prison and fined about $10,000.

On Saturday, per WKYC, the Tyson family's attorney, Bobby DiCello, released a statement regarding the case. DiCello hailed the grand jury for their decision.

"Today, Frank Tyson’s family breathes a short sigh of relief, knowing that the officers who took part in Frank’s inhumane and brutal death will not escape prosecution for their actions. "

The statement continued:

This moment of relief is bittersweet, because it makes official what they have long known: Frank is a victim of homicide who did not deserve to be suffocated to death," Stone said.

He also asked people to support the Tyson family during difficult times.
