A beautiful day turned into a tragic one when groom Tyrek Burton was shot dead seven hours after his wedding. The alleged road rage incident occurred on Saturday in Barber Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. Following the incident, which is currently under investigation, Burton's loved ones set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe for his wife and kids. The fundraiser has raised over $9000 and is continuously receiving more donations.

Tyrek Burton got married to his ladylove of 16 years on Saturday. The two had four daughters and wished to expand their family even further. However, per ABC11, Burton's family revealed that the tragedy hit when he was leaving the wedding venue. Tyrek thought his new wife was at home, but when she called him, he returned to get her.

His sister, Brittany Burton, mentioned that Tyrek made a U-turn and did not see a person. As he allegedly cut them off, that person followed him to the park where his family was waiting for him.

The Burton family is demanding justice for Tyrek. They have revealed that someone shot Tyrek in front of his wife, family members, and his daughter. The Greensboro police responded to a report of a shooting before 9 p.m. on Saturday. They allegedly found the groom in a serious condition and immediately initiated lifesaving efforts. However, the 37-year-old died on the scene. Tyrek's death reportedly marked the 32nd homicide of 2024 in the city.

The police have informed citizens that the person who shot Burton is on the loose. Burton's mother told WFMY,

"I demand it (justice). I don't want to wait years for it. He doesn’t deserve what he got. He waited 13 years to get his bride a soon as he got his bride he couldn’t even take her home."

Talking about the person who shot Burton, his sister said,

"He emptied his clip. Didn't fire one, or two shots. He didn't fire eight shots. It was in the teens. He literally had a hole in his chest over road rage."
