Vem Miller, a man arrested near a Trump rally in Coachella, California for possessing multiple unregistered weapons and fake identification documents, was released on $5,000 bail. The incident, which authorities described as a potential assassination attempt, has sparked online reactions. Many were stunned by the low bail amount given the seriousness of the situation.

Social media users voiced their disbelief questioning how such a low bail was set after Miller was found with an unregistered handgun, shotgun, and fake credentials at the rally. Another user expressed concern over the security lapses, asking how Miller managed to get through initial checkpoints claiming VIP and media credentials.

Authorities are treating the incident as a foiled third assassination attempt against the former president. However, the suspect, identified as a "sovereign citizen," allegedly claimed that he did not intend to harm Trump and expressed support for him.

How was Vem Miller arrested?

Officers pulled over suspect Vem Miller, who was driving a black SUV, at approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday, around half a mile away from a Donald Trump rally. Miller reportedly bypassed an initial security checkpoint by falsely claiming he had VIP and media credentials.

During a Sunday press conference, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco explained that at a second stop, a deputy noticed Vem Miller’s SUV was in disarray and had a fake license plate. Further investigation revealed Miller had multiple IDs and passports under different names, along with an unregistered handgun, shotgun, and a high-capacity magazine.

Sheriff Bianco also noted that the license plate markings linked Miller to the "sovereign citizens" movement, a right-wing group that rejects the government's legitimacy.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office stated that Vem Miller was arrested without any confrontation and taken to the John J. Benoit Detention Center, charged with possessing a loaded firearm and high-capacity magazine.

Miller, who claims to be a supporter of Donald Trump, denied any intention of harming the former president. In an interview with Southern California News Group, the 49-year-old was surprised at the situation, dismissing the claims as completely false. He emphasized that, as an artist, he would never engage in violence.

Online uproar after Vem Miller's bail

Since the news of his bail has come out, there have been a plethora of reactions related to the incident. A user posted Vem Miller's video which he had shot from the rally on his X account:

Another person on X gave a shocking reaction to the meagre bail amount by saying:

"Wait what.... is this for real?"

Another user named Shadows of Ezra has claimed that:

"Vem Miller, who was caught with multiple illegal firearms and fake press passes just feet away from Trump's Coachella rally in an alleged a*sassination attempt, has already been released on a $5K bail.

He added:

What’s more alarming is that Miller was recently seen in close proximity to high-profile figures like Vivek Ramaswamy, Newt Gingrich, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Donald Trump Jr."

Some users are coming out to criticize the police and questioning why the news was shared a day late with everyone.

As the case develops, further details may emerge about Miller’s motives and how law enforcement plans to prevent similar incidents.

However, for now, the internet continues to react with skepticism, disbelief, and concern over the handling of the case and its broader implications.
