Joe Rogan hosts one of the most popular podcasts in the world, The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), and has garnered over 14.5 million followers on Spotify, 19 million followers on Instagram, and 17 million followers on YouTube.

Joe's podcast has featured personalities like Elon Musk, Kanye West, and Bernie Sanders, and is now set to host Donald Trump this Friday. The scheduled sit-down with Trump has many questioning Joe Rogan's political stance which has been hard to categorize politically.

While Rogan has built an audience that includes many conservative listeners, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when he criticized vaccination policies and lockdowns, he has not fully aligned himself with any political party.

Is Joe Rogan a Democrat, Republican, or a Libertarian?

Over the years, Rogan has been critical of both Democrats and Republicans. He endorsed Bernie Sanders (a progressive Democrat) in 2020, yet has criticized President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democratic Party on issues like crime and gender-affirming care for children.

In 2020, Rogan didn't vote for either major party candidate but for the Libertarian candidate, Jo Jorgensen. His decision reflected dissatisfaction with both Trump and Biden.

In past interviews, Joe has identified himself as a "bleeding heart liberal" on social issues like gay marriage and abortion, which he strongly supports. These positions keep him from fully embracing the Republican Party, as he believes they are vague when it comes to these rights.

However, while once a solidly left-leaning person, Rogan has become increasingly critical of the Democratic Party, particularly on topics like crime, gender-affirming care, and the age of President Biden.

What does Joe Rogan think of Donald Trump?

In 2022, Joe Rogan had expressed that he wasn't keen on having Donald Trump on his podcast while calling him 'an existential threat to democracy'.

For years, he had refused to have Trump on his show, saying he didn't want to help the former president by providing him a platform to connect with younger audiences.

However, the timing of this interview, just weeks before the 2024 election could signal that Rogan is giving Trump a platform to reach younger male voters, a demographic that both Joe Rogan and Trump appeal to.

X users across the world are excited about the interview with people like Elon Musk posting:

"Nothing would sink Kamala’s campaign faster than a 3 hour unscripted conversation with Joe Rogan 😂"

Joe has been critical of Kamala Harris in different podcasts this year. In a July interview with political commentator Michael Malice, Rogan called Harris "the worst" and commented on her unpopularity as vice president.

In another recent podcast in September with comedian Tom Segura, Joe Rogan sarcastically praised Harris saying:

“Whoever’s coaching her, whoever’s the puppet master running the strings” is doing an “f****** amazing job.”

With differing comments through the years, it is safe to say that Joe Rogan's political identity can be categorized as complex and rapidly changing. The highly anticipated interview with Trump will probably help clear up Joe's standing in today's political landscape.
