General Hospital's Alexis has been lonely for far too long. Her last boyfriend, Neil Byrne, died in her bed after a night of lust. After she lost her law license and served stints in Pentonville and Spring Ridge, Alexis grew close to Gregory Chase, but he died from complications from ALS. Then, Alexis ended up in Pentonville again with a new lawyer by her side—Martin Grey.
General Hospital's Martin Grey needs a new love
Marty (Michael E. Knight) is back in Port Charles after a few months of visiting his elderly mother. He left town earlier this year after discovering his girlfriend, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), canoodling with her ex Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner).

When he reunited with his sister, Laura (Genie Francis), she noticed the change in Marty. Not only had he shaved his beard, but he'd lost his Southern accent after using the same dialect coach as Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer). Marty said he was ready for a fresh start, and changes in his appearance and speech helped.
But what about a new woman? Marty had unofficially worked with Alexis when he was going to represent Finn (Michael Easton) in his malpractice suit, and the sparks flew then. As he did his best to spring her from Pentonville over the last few weeks, those sparks were flying once again.
Legal eagles unite
Alexis has already had one disastrous relationship with a fellow attorney, but at least she got a daughter out of it. Ric (Rick Hearst) was the person who helped put Alexis behind bars this time, and there's no love lost between them.
As soon as Marty stepped foot in Pentonville to introduce himself as Alexis' new lawyer, fans got a taste of how entertaining this pair could be. Michael E. Knight and Nancy Lee Grahn have always used humor and wit to make their soap characters delightfully entertaining.
Knight never failed to make us laugh as the iconic Tad Martin on All My Children, while Grahn has always played intelligent and amusing lawyers, including Santa Barbara's Julia Wainwright and GH's Alexis. Together, their banter is perfection. Why not take two super humorous characters and see what they can do?
When Alexis fought to get her law license back, we saw how well she works with other lawyers. Grahn was reunited with Santa Barbara's Lane Davies, who played Julia's lawyer husband, Mason Capwell, back in the 1980s and early 1990s. It was a brief appearance and told us that Alexis is meant to be with a lawyer. Marty certainly fits the bill. Since the chemistry between Grahn and Knight is palpable, why not make them the next couple to watch on GH?
