It's been nearly six months since Rory Gibson made his General Hospital debut as a recast Michael Quartermaine Corinthos. The actor quickly won the hearts of fans and made the role his own, but he still has fond memories of his time on The Young and the Restless.
General Hospital star remains pragmatic

Gibson landed his first major soap role as Y&R's Noah Newman in 2021 and remained with the show until 2023. However, during Gibson's last year on the CBS soap, he didn't have a major storyline and seemed to flounder in the background.
"It was a bummer in the moment, because I just loved all the people there," Gibson told Soap Opera Digest. "I felt like not much was going with Noah at the time, so maybe he did need to bounce. And if that hadn’t happened, then I probably would never have landed here [on General Hospital], and I feel like this is really the right fit for me. It feel good, I feel fulfilled. So, it all worked out the way it was supposed to."
Despite no longer being a part of the Y&R canvas, Gibson still keeps up with his former soap and former role, which will be played by Days of our Lives alum Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp Johnson) soon. Which character intrigues Gibson the most? Noah's former flame, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), of course.
"I especially want to know what’s going to happen with Noah and Audra," he said. "When Zuleyka first came on, we had a couple of things together and we started kind of a heavy story and then it kind of just faded away a little bit...So I’m very curious to see what they’re gonna do with that [relationship] and I think it’s going to be some exciting stuff."
Gibson's life in Port Charles

Since making a surprise appearance at the close of Nurses' Ball this past May, Gibson has become a fan favorite, with many saying he is one of the best recasts they have ever seen on soaps. Gibson was thrown right into the fire with a front-burner story and barely missed an episode during his first month on the Port Charles scene.
During his half year on the ABC soap, Gibson has seen Michael become a father again, gain custody of his two kids with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), and say goodbye to his new little girl, Daisy. Now, he is the prime suspect in the Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) shooting, but did Michael pull the trigger? Time will tell...
