Why did General Hospital's Jack disappear Vaughn? Chris McKenna has the answer

General Hospital's Jack Brennan showed us — and Vaughn — who he was on the Monday, November 24th episode when he had two WSB "goons" swoop in and take Vaughn...somewhere...for disobeying his orders. That moment brought out a side of Jack we thought we'd never see again — a ruthless one.

General Hospital's Jack is not playing around

Jack thought he was being such a nice guy when he allowed Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) to have some romantic time in Australia after their mission at the Five Poppies. But he ordered them to stay away from one another once they were back in Port Charles.

He trusted they would do the right thing and listen to him, but as soon as he learned they didn't, Jack took matters into his own hands. Vaughn was taken...somewhere...and Josslyn is going to get the message soon.

"You can’t be surprised at how Brennan reacted," Chris McKenna told Soap Opera Digest. "I mean, he gave them plenty of warnings. He even gave them an extra 24 hours in Australia! I mean, he’s pretty magnanimous, in my opinion. But then they went and [kept seeing each other] anyway, and I guess he’s not messing around this time because [Vaughn] is dragged away!"

McKenna is sure that Josslyn will get the hint this time, but will she be able to resist Vaughn if Jack ever makes him reappear?

"I think he’s had to lay down the law numerous times and it just hasn’t stuck," McKenna continued. "I think this time, she’s maybe going to get the message that you don’t mess with Brennan! Even if he doesn’t always follow his own rules himself — ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ — he is the boss, and she’s gonna remember that right quick when her boyfriend’s gone.

Jack's other problems

Jack also has to deal with his girlfriend, Carly (Laura Wright), who also happens to be Josslyn's mother. Jack can tell that his relationship with Carly is still strained, but he doesn't know it's because Jason told Carly that Joss is a WSB agent.

Carly is now working with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to bring Jack down, but Jack has no idea that Carly has been visiting his frenemy in an international prison.

"I believe in the coming episodes, you’ll see in the quiet moments when he’s alone that he suspects that something’s not quite right, even if he’s not showing it to her," McKenna said.
