For most of her life, General Hospital’s Kimberly McCullough has worked in the entertainment industry. Best known to soap fans as Robin Scorpio, a role she began as a child, McCullough has since carved out a second career as a successful television and film director. Her work has included episodes of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and One Day at a Time. Most recently, she celebrated a new milestone behind the camera with the premiere of Vampirina: Teenage Vampire on the Disney Channel, and she shared her excitement with her fans.

Premiere Day Celebration

On Instagram, McCullough wrote: “Premiere Day photo dump coming straight at ya! Vampirina Teenage Vampire premieres today on @disneychannel. Congratulations to all the cast and crew who worked on this pilot with me and the rest of season 1. Special thanks to @randi.barnes, @timfederle, and @bnorthreist for believing in me.”

Her post featured a vibrant mix of behind-the-scenes and celebratory shots — including Kimberly standing confidently on a busy set surrounded by cameras and crew, a group photo with colleagues in front of a neon-purple bat-themed backdrop, a candid shot of her at a monitor with storyboards displayed, selfies with cast members and friends, and even a close-up of the storyboard panels for Vampirina: Teenage Vampire. @faith.hedley called it “The best!” while @shaundixonofficial added, “Miss you, Ms. Kimberly!” Others, like the film’s star, Kenzi Richardson, focused on the collaborative spirit: “Can’t wait for the world to see the magic we’ve created!!”

The comments reflected both admiration and affection. @jiwon.lee_official wrote, “Love you so much Kimberly,” while @marissacreates chimed in with, “Amazing! Congrats! Can’t wait to see it!” From longtime friends to fellow creatives, the chorus of support highlighted how deeply respected the General Hospital-star-turned-director is in the industry.

What stood out most in the responses was the recognition of McCullough’s journey from childhood star to accomplished director. @mcorleone8215 wrote, “I’ve been following you since you left [General Hospital] to chase your dream. You are such an inspiration. I’m so happy for you with all the success you’ve achieved.” Others echoed similar praise, with @robdotacosta noting, “Been a fan of yours since you were a child. It’s really wonderful to see all your success.”

The new Disney project is just the latest in a string of achievements that underline her growth as a storyteller behind the camera. With her characteristic mix of humility, creativity, and connection to fans, McCullough’s “premiere day glow” was about more than just a show launch — it was a celebration of her evolution, her persistence, and the joy of bringing a new generation of stories to life.

General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
