General Hospital star Anthony Geary died a little over a week ago, and now, his husband, Claudio Gama, is sharing the news that the beloved actor, who won 8 Daytime Emmys for his role as Luke Spencer, has been laid to rest.
General Hospital, RIP, Anthony Geary
"Greetings to all from Amsterdam," Gama began an emotional Instagram Post, featuring photos that memorialize the late GH star, "today, we said our last goodbyes to Tony. He is now resting up where the stars shine bright. He will [al]ways be missed, his love, his life, his art speaks for itself...me, Max [our cat], and the family would like to thank all of Tony's friends and colleagues for the wonderful support and respect you have shown Tony.
"To all of Tony’s fans," Gama continued, "thank you so much for the wonderful words of support and condolences He always told me everything he did as an actor as an artist was for his fans, without your love and support he would have never reached the heights he did in his career...acting was his passion, as was dancing, singing, drink cola, Payday candy bars, and cats. He loved his country and his second home of Amsterdam. Thank you, all. Rest in Peace, our Tony. Stay warm, safe, and healthy."

Geary began his run as Luke Spencer in late 1978. He played the part until late 1983, and returned for a brief stint in 1984. In 1991, he rejoined the show as Luke's look-alike cousin, Bill Eckert. Geary came back to GH as Luke in 1993. Joining him at that time was his longtime leading lady, Daytime Emmy-winner Genie Francis (Laura).
GH will honor Geary on New Year's Day 2026 by rebroadcasting the actor's final full episode from 2017.
Soap Central sends heartfelt condolences to Gama, Geary's family, his General Hospital and other daytime colleagues, and supporters.
