General Hospital spoilers, October 23: Molly lets loose on Ric

Molly (Kristen Vaganos) can't believe her ears when she learns that her own father is responsible for Heather Webber's (Alley Mills) impending release from prison. Ric (Rick Hearst) should have known when he took the case that it might not go as planned, but now it's too late. Heather's sentence has been vacated, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

However, that's not Molly's only beef. She can't believe Ric is defending Ava (Maura West) when Molly still considers her at least partially to blame for Kristina's (Kate Mansi) fall. Ric explains why he can't drop the case now. Does he tell Molly it's so she can realize the baby's death was an accident and, therefore, start emotionally healing?

The Ashfords are reeling

Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brook Kerr) completely blame Ric for Heather's release. Heather would be behind bars forever if he had never taken her case. In just one day, Heather will be roaming Port Charles as a free woman. Curtis promises Portia he will protect her and Trina (Tabyana Ali) from Heather.

Trina thought she could finally live her life again without thoughts of Heather and her daughter, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). However, that is not meant to be, and now Trina has to deal with reality. Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is there for Trina as a friend, offering moral support as she vents.

Holly propositions Sonny

Sonny (Maurice Benard) is unsure what to think when Holly (Emma Samms) comes to him with Sidwell's diamond, hoping he can turn it into cash. Sonny doesn't usually get involved in business dealings like this but is willing to hear Holly out.

After Holly leaves Sonny's office, Anna (Finola Hughes) confronts her once again. Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has been seen in Miami, which means he survived the drone strike and might be headed for Port Charles.

Dueling surgeons

It looks like the hospital is breaking all the rules to save Lulu's life. Lucas (Van Hansis) is trying to find a way to perform Sam's (Kelly Monaco) surgery, while Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) will perform Lulu's despite not being on staff at GH.

However, Lucas knows how little chance there is of the surgery being successful. As Lucas and Isaiah discuss that fact, will either one of them inform Sam she may be risking her life for nothing?
