Catching up with General Hospital’s Marc Anthony Samuel

Marc Anthony Samuel, who plays Felix DuBois on General Hospital, hasn’t been seen on the show since he attended the memorial service of Bobbie Spencer who was played by the late Jacklyn Zeman. Even though he only appears every so often, having been bumped to recurring status in 2014, the actor keeps quite busy and has a slate of projects coming out soon.

He proved he can dance well

The General Hospital actor has a few upcoming gigs including Winters Garden, The Otherkind, and the TV series A Man on the Inside. Samuel has also appeared in a few short films in 2024, as well as his new Christmas movie, The Merry Gentlemen, which will debut on Netflix on November 20. Inside will premiere on November 21 on Netflix also.

IMDb explains the premise of The Merry Gentlemen:

To save her parents' small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

Samuel discussed his various projects with Digital Journal, stating that he loved the cast of The Merry Gentlemen.

Honestly, everybody in the cast was a lot of fun to talk to, hang out with, and swap stories with. It was a really great crew.

The one takeaway he got from working on the film was that it proved he could adequately do a choreographed dance. When he danced at the General Hospital Nurses Ball, he didn’t have a strict routine he had to follow and was allowed to improvise. Samuel explained the difference between dancing on both projects:

I didn’t have to adhere to a tough choreography on General Hospital. Thankfully, this movie proved to me that I could actually follow those directions and that I could have that in my wheelhouse.

Digital Journal also describes A Man on the Inside thusly:

Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation in a nursing home.

Charles is played by Ted Danson, and Samuel plays the recurring character, C.J.

Samuel also touched upon the late, beloved General Hospital star, Johnny Wactor. The two were friends well before they worked together on the soap, and Samuel praised his fallen friend:

To know him is to know a very beautiful and generous person

Fans hope that Samuel’s Felix will come back to General Hospital soon, especially now that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) are also back on the Port Charles Canvas.
