General Hospital's Granny Wars are back and that unexpected truce between Nina Reeves and Carly Spencer is over and done. Carly and Nina are back in their corners, defending their respective children and battling over their mutual grandchildren. It all fell apart with one spectacular catfight that was four years in the making, but it all made perfect sense for Laura Wright.

Five years ago, Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Carly (Laura Wright) hosted the red carpet festivities at the Nurses' Ball together. This year, they got into a brawl in Carly's living room the night before the ball. The women had teamed up to help Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) see that she had fallen for a smarmy, creepy, crooked congressman, and moving in with him was the biggest mistake of her life.

While Nina thought she and Carly were in this together, Carly had other ideas. She'd use Nina as long as she could, but had no problem going behind her back to arrange a court date for Willow and Michael's divorce and custody hearing when even Michael couldn't be there to speak for himself. For Wright, that was just par for the course with Carly.

"She doesn’t trust Nina as far as she can throw her," Wright told Soap Opera Digest. "This is not an alliance of 'We’re together on this.' Carly’s [point of view] is, 'I will throw you to the wolves in a freaking heartbeat. I owe you nothing. This is for my kid. And if I’ve got to spend even five seconds with you because of him, then 100 percent, the second I don’t need you anymore, I can toss you out.' That is how she feels about Nina."

Where do Carly and Nina go from here?

Carly made those sentiments loud and clear on Monday when she and Nina got into a bitter brawl in Carly's living room that ended with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) having to pull Nina off of Carly. Nina quickly let Willow know what happened, but Sonny (Maurice Benard) warned her that her fight with Carly could have made things worse for Willow's custody battle and not better.

Carly is also worried that she might have screwed up when she lost her temper with Nina. Josslyn warned her that she can't fight Michael's battles for him, but that's exactly what Carly plans to do as Nina gears up to fight for Willow. The granny claws have come out, but who will end up as the winner?
