Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on General Hospital
It's been so long since we've seen Port Charles' favorite mob hitman doing any mobbing with his old pal Sonny that we forgot he was still Jason Morgan. We have been enjoying him as Jason Quartermaine, devoted son, father, uncle, and nephew. Or even Jason Quartermorgan, who helped rescue Britt Westbourne and two WSB agents, one of whom was his goddaughter. But today he was Jason Morgan, and he didn't want to throw away his shot — at Sidwell. Jason is back in mob enforcer world, plotting and planning with Sonny. But here's the thing. We liked Jason away from Sonny's world, and he almost seemed out of place talking about shipments and "the business" today. Jason is much more suited as the leather-clad Quartermaine who bails his aunt out of jail multiple times a year. Or the dad to a teenage boy. Or the guy who helps Britt finance a car. This other Jason even seems to have more life in him, so can we go back to the beginning of the year? Weren't Sonny and Jason ready to retire? Whatever happened to that? We know that Sidwell became a threat, but it's been nearly a year and Sidwell is still a threat. It's like nothing has happened and time has stood still. But it's clear there is a whole world for Jason away from Sonny and we want to see more of it.
