Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

Perhaps one of the most incredible moments of the General Hospital year was when Giovanni Mazza, as Gio Palmieri, took the stage at the annual Nurses' Ball. His rendition of his own original song Glow, stole the whole show. Or at least it almost did. When Gio took to the stage again to play the Tango for Chase and Anna, he had just learned that Brook Lynn and Dante were his real parents. So, in a fit of anger and confusion, he smashed his violin and vowed never to play again. Until today, aka Boxing Day. General Hospital chose to acknowledge the British holiday known as Boxing Day today with celebrations at Laura's place, Wyndemere, and Tracy's house. That's when Sonny and Ned gave Gio a new violin, or rather, Leo did. It was an intense moment as Leo revealed the surprise that neither Ned nor Sonny knew if Gio was ready for. But, with the cat (or rather, the violin) out of the bag, Gio decided to look at it and hold it. He was so moved he had to leave the room, but it was his mother who gave him quiet permission to pick up his instrument and play again. And what a glorious moment it was when we heard that first note and knew our guess that Gio would play O Holy Night was right. But really, let Giovanni Mazza just keep on playing because it is always exquisite when he does.
