Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

It was a bittersweet day for General Hospital fans, General Hospital stars, and the soap world as a whole. Anthony Geary, who brought Luke Spencer to life off and on for nearly 40 years, passed away at the age of 78 in his adopted home city of Amsterdam. Luke himself died in Amsterdam almost four years ago, but his legacy lives on in Port Charles, as was evidenced by the December 15th episode of GH. Genie Francis was center stage as Laura met with Sidwell and learned what he wanted from her before taking her husband to task by the end of the episode. Luke and Laura might have been the first loves of each other's lives, but Laura has moved on and is now married to Kevin. Luke had also moved on and was married to Tracy at the end of his life, and Tracy returned today, fresh from a spa trip after mourning the loss of Monica. She was the Tracy we love and the Tracy who Luke loved. We also had Luke's daughter prominently featured as Lulu went to bat for teenage Rocco, the grandson Luke hardly even knew. Lulu was as fierce as her father, but also just as loving. It was a testament to the actor and the character. All these years later, Geary's Luke is still remembered, and the women he loved are still holding GH and Port Charles together.

Soap Central has the best full GH recaps on the internet! You can even go back over 30 years and read each and every one of ‘em. If you can’t wait until the next episode, we have daily spoilers, too! And whatever you do this weekend, do not…seriously, do NOT…forget to read the Two Scoops for some laughs (hey, admit it, we’re funny) in the as-close-as-we-can-come to being a watching party without actually being a show — and the best part is if you agree or disagree, we want to know!
